Dear WMOC2019 participants! In Latvia we have the green colour dominating now, so summer is close! We have more than 3500 entries, the biggest delegations are from Finland – 673, Sweden – 575 and Norway – 378. The biggest competition class is M70 with 357 participants, but for women – W60 with 237 participants. We have prepared last news before the Bulletin 2 is published, including important information regarding SI cards!

Registration and payments
Please check if your name is on the list of participants: if you have paid the entry fee, it should be there. You can still make changes in your entry by clicking on the green editing mark on the right-hand side. The following changes can be made by 1 June 23:59:59 Latvia time by yourself free of charge. After that you have to request organisers to make the change, the fee is EUR 10.
Club membership: if your entry shows “No club membership” and there is a black arrow next to it, clicking on it will display your club. If there is no arrow, you first have to access your personal account in Eventor and add the club. After that, you will be able to correct in the WMOC entry.
Punching card: you can also change your punching card number. Organisers will handle the assigning to you the newly purchased WMOC2019 SIAC card numbers and entering them in the system. When making the changes, please do not forget to confirm them in the system as prompted.
Services: you can still add services after registration deadline. Services are available according to the ordering deadlines in section “Important deadlines”. Please note that it is no longer possible to order car parking at Bumbukalns, as there are no free places in car park. To reach the competition site, you have 2 options:
1)order bus transport from Hotel Monika or Hotel Bellevue, or
2)purchase minibus/camper parking at Bumbukalns (EUR 25).
Please pay special attention to the following: Have you registered your SI card number in Eventor entry system? Do it till June 1 or order SI/SIAC rent till June 5! If you do not have SI card number in Eventor after June 1 and do not have SI/SIAC rent ordered till June 5, we will assign you rent SI card automatically. SI /SIAC card rent ordered in Eventor is 12/15 eur per week, if assigned automatically –17/20 eur per week, payable at Event centre. Please write to in case you detect any inconsistencies or errors. The next entry deadline is June 1, 23:59:59 in Latvian time zone (GMT +2)

The building of Gaismas pils (which translates as the Castle of Light) wasbuilt in 2014 and is one of the newest and most impressive buildings in the 21stcentury Latvia. It is located next to the river Daugava, within a walking distance both from Old Riga and WMOC Event centre. Interesting fact is, that we have had several indoor orienteering competitions in National Library, including last year during WOC2018.
Restaurant Klīversala will offer high quality food, please find the menu . Good food, music and dancing will make really enjoyable atmosphere, won’t they? It is planned to startbanquet at 19:30 with welcome drink and welcome speech. It will be possible to buy also alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the bar. If you want to be seated together at one table with your clubmates, you should order tickets by sending your request to . Ticket to banquet costs 50 eur,itcan be ordered in Eventor as a service.
Trainings
Looking for a training in a map similar to WMOC2019 ones? You can order a map and explore on your own. Visit WMOC2019.lv/training for available maps. There are both sprint maps in Riga and forest maps around Riga available. If you are a group coming for training, our training team is ready to plan your coursesand put out controls for you. Please write to and discuss your needs.
If you are at the right time at theright place, you can also use for training several orienteering events happening in and around Riga this spring. The ones taking place in terrains similar to WMOC are listed in https://wmoc2019.lv/training/.
Accommodation
It is smart to book your accommodation as soon as possible as closer to summer prices usually get up in Riga. WMOC official hotels are listed in wmoc2019.lv/accommodation and some of them are fully booked already.
WMOC souvenirs
Running shirts
Already for some time it is possible to order WMOC2019 running shirts. They are specially designed for hot July weather! There are 3 different colours available. To be sure to get your favourite size and colour, it is advised to order them in Eventor. There will be also shirts available for sale in Events centre but limited number, of course.
WMOC SIAC cards
We have started to deliver the new SIAC cardsfor those who ordered with delivery, so watch out for yours! For all who have ordered WMOC special SIACs, we will enter your new SIAC number for you in Eventor. In case you bought it as a present for somebody else and do not want to use it during WMOC, let us know by sending e-mail to !Latest order date is June 10th and latest pickup is at your arrival in Riga. You can order your SIAC right now in Eventor. In all competitions at WMOC2019 we provide contactless punching. You can use both types of SPORTident cards – the classical SI cards and contactless SIAC. It will be possible to buy WMOC2019 SIAC card also in Event centre as long as not sold out.
To order your WMOC2019 SIAC card follow these steps:
1)Go to your entry in Eventor and click on
icon to add WMOC SIAC card to your services. You can pick up your card in WMOC Event centre (choose “Buy WMOC2019 SIAC card in EC”) or have it delivered to your address (choose “Buy WMOC2019 SIAC card delivered”). Pay with PayPal or bank transfer, together with your other payments or separately. Price for the SIAC card is 65 eur.
2)You will be automatically assigned SIAC card number from this range: 8xx2019or 82019xx. If you prefer to customise your number, you should go to https://sportident.com/reservation/#!/configure-card/0 and choose WMOC SIAC. You can change your Ident number in Eventor to the new one till June 1 or we will do it for you! Other souvenirs will be available for sale in Arenas.

Do not miss the side events that take place just before and right after WMOC! Have you ever tried the indoor orienteering? On July 5 there is a good chance to participate in one – choose your distance and go! If you register online then price is 8 eur. Rogaining sounds even more unfamiliar? Try it out on July 13 in Jurmala! Rogaining is a team orienteering competition where teams of 2-3 participants plan and try to visit as many controls (with different value) as possible within a given time limit.
